News   IBM has the box, and ATI has the Cube.
- Posted By Travis Coats, 08.30.2001

As we reported earlier, the box that will house the purple cube of wonder will have the new IBM logo on the outside.

I had speculated that other GameCube hardware partners might get similar treatment, and apparently I was right.

IGNCube reported today that ATI would also have a logo on the GameCube as well. However, there is one small difference. ATI's logo is not on the box like IBM's, but rather on the actual GameCube itself. Go ATI! I've been a big fan of ATI since the days of 3dfx's demise, and this news makes me quite happy indeed.

Come November 18th, not only will I have a shiny new GameCube to fawn over, but it will feature a logo from a company I respect almost as much as Nintendo itself.

Check out IGNCube for the full report and some good pictures of the logos.
