Preview  Godzilla: Domination
- By Travis Coats

If old style monster bashing on GameCube isn't enough for you, then you're in luck. Atari (The name anyway. The company died years ago.) is currently in development with Godzilla: Domination for the handheld that could.

"Hollywood's biggest action star is bashing his way onto the smallest next-gen platform," said Larry Sparks, Vice President of European Marketing. "The GodzillaŽ franchise is well loved with enthusiastic fans the world over. GodzillaŽ: Domination will be a mobile incarnation of a movie legend that will please the hardcore film fanbase as well as create its own audience with GameBoy Advance owners."

Boy does that sound like a line of crap. I can't stand they way these people sound when they spew this stuff forth. Let the game sell itself for once. Is that really too much to ask?

Aside from my innate hatred of marketing bologna, the game does look rather promising. Some of the features include...

Basic Godzilla lovin': Punching, kicking, throwing, you name it. It seems the only thing missing is the neat little dance he does whenever he wins. Damn that thing is cool.

Six monsters: Looking at the screens it seems Godzilla, Mecha-Godzilla, Rodan, King Ghidorha, Megalon, and Mothra will be playable. Well, I'm sold. Mothra is in the game. She was so badass, with the wings, and the pollen, and the... ok I'll stop now.

Five modes of Gameplay: Story, Custom, Multi-Pak, Single Pak, and Survival modes.

It may not be Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, but it just might pack a punch when it is released this October. That, or a blue nuclear fire breath... thing.
