Preview  WWF: Betrayal
- By Travis Coats

The venerable old Game Boy Color hasn’t gotten much attention lately. Since just being recently upstaged by its younger brother the Game Boy Advance things have been slowing down for it. However, we here at Nsports haven’t forgotten about the old trooper… and apparently neither has THQ.

In a move that is certain to be copied for some time to come, THQ has created a wrestling game that actually includes some semblance of a story. In WWF: Betrayal Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley has been kidnapped, and it is up to you to find her. All right, I didn’t say it was a good story, but at least they made an attempt.

This hybrid action/adventure/sports title will feature numerous obstacles littered over six different levels for the hero to overcome. Obstacles such as steam blasts, fire, security systems, automated lasers and traps. Very odd indeed, but once again at least THQ and the developer Way Forward Technologies are trying to create a new experience instead of just re-hashing the old tried and true formulas.

Anything new and different should always be viewed with caution, but if THQ’s track record is anything to go by, this game will be something to watch out for.
