Preview  Hot Wheels Burnin' Rubber
- By Travis Coats

Before there were videogames... heck, before there were even televisions, children entertained themselves with little metallic cars. At some point (thanks to a little corporate action) these cars became known as Hot Wheels, and they have been going strong ever since.

Now, imagine if you were to take a handful of your favorite Hot Wheels on a trip with you. Either by land, air, or sea it would be pretty difficult to carry the little buggers with you, let alone actually play with them. Well, for those of you that would do just that, THQ, Mattel, and Nintendo have a solution.

The game is called Hot Wheels Burnin' Rubber for Game Boy Advance, and if it is even half as fun as playing with real Hot Wheels, then we little metallic car fans should be in for a big treat.

Some of the features of this title include the following.

25 Authentic 2000 and 2001 Hot Wheels vehicles, as well as 20 hidden and unlockable cars.

16 different tracks to start, and multiple unlockable courses to find.

7 different modifications for cars such as engines, tires, suspension, exhaust and more.

A multiplayer mode.

A save feature that doesn't use passwords. (Woo hoo!)

All of the above adds up to create an experience that should be fun for everyone. However don't take my word for it, listen to what Mr. Michael Rubinelli, Vice President of Product Development at THQ has to say. "THQ is thrilled to expand the Hot Wheels videogame franchise with an all new Game Boy Advance racing game. The speed and performance that Hot Wheels signature car designs are known for, coupled with our Game Boy Advance development experience, promise a quality racer for kids of all ages."

Sounds pretty good to me.

Hot Wheels Burnin' Rubber is set for release this fall.
